Meet the team

Kevin Allen

Director

  • Diploma of Finance & Mortgage Broking Management
  • Certificate IV in Financial Services (finance/Mortgage Brokering)
  • Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate)

Since founding Educated Finance in 2002 with Co-Director Tony Inglis, Kevin’s been putting his extensive experience in property and finance to work for our clients.

A deep understanding of both industries, combined with a genuine passion for helping people achieve their financial dreams via property, sets him apart. Extensive experience across individual and commercial finance has positioned him as a leading consultant on solutions for individual, corporate, trustee, and SMSF structures.

Kevin’s knowledge and skills are incredibly diverse. A genuine love sees his advice extend across home and investment property loans, commercial and SMSF property finance, vehicle and equipment leasing, reverse mortgages, and debt management, consolidation, and negotiation.

His skillset extends to personal risk insurance, with Kevin regularly guiding clients through the complexities of life, total and permanent disability (TPD), income protection, and critical illness/trauma insurance.

And when he’s not working? As a family man who’s happy as long as he’s with his wife and kids, he loves nothing more than spending time with together – whether at home, travelling, or fishing on long summer days.

One of the main things we love about Kevin is his awesome sense of humour. He loves a good laugh (often at himself!) and is a dog lover from way back. He also loves his Coke (four cans a day) and while he’s a chocolate fan, he shows no favouritism between milk and white, loving them both!

If you’re looking for a mortgage broker who’s experienced and knowledgeable, good for a laugh and dedicated to helping you achieve your goals, call 1300 338 228 and talk to Kevin today.

Tony Inglis

Director

  • Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning)
  • Diploma of Finance & Mortgage Broking Management
  • Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate)
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Graduate Certificate in Business Administration
  • Justice of the Peace NSW

Kind of like George Clooney, just better looking (his words), Tony’s good looks belie his 30+ years’ experience in finance. He left GE Money in 2001 to create Educated Finance with Co-Director Kevin Allen, with the duo sharing shared a passion for mortgage broking and real estate (they developed Educated Property in 2011, but that’s another story).

With extensive industry qualifications, it’s undeniable that Tony knows the ins and outs of the industry like the back of his hand.

Consistently delivering commercially-strong financial solutions, Tony’s known for his expertise in personal, company, trust, and SMSF financial structures.

When he’s not guiding clients with purchasing or refinancing for residential, rural, and commercial real estate, you’ll find Tony feeding the ducks and chooks on his hobby farm. And while they may not appreciate his sense of humour, his wife does – in fact, he credits her with always making him laugh.

A fan of relaxing at the beach to soak up the rays, Tony’s part of that rare breed that don’t mind sand in their Speedos (go figure). One thing he won’t relax is his daily routine – he can’t start the day without two cups of tea.

So if you’re looking for a mortgage broker with expertise in developing residential and commercial finance solutions across complex structures (not to that he’s better looking than George Clooney and has a great sense of humour), call 1300 338 228 and talk to Tony today.

Matthew Townley-Jones

Mortgage Broker

  • Diploma IV in Finance
  • Diploma in Finance

Matt’s been securing the best home loans for our clients since 2011.

Working in finance before joining the Educated team, Matt undeniably knows his stuff. And while clients are constantly bowled over by his wealth of finance knowledge and extensive mortgage experience, there’s one thing they value over all else; his customer service. He’s a genuine people-person who’s easy to talk to and goes out of his way to ensure every client is well cared for.

And when he’s not crunching numbers and arm wrestling with lenders, you’ll more than likely find him playing or watching a game of football (real football that is – what us Aussies call soccer). When it’s time to kick back and relax, he’s not averse to bingeing a few eps of his fave show (it’s Goldrush in case you were wondering – talk about building your finances the old-fashioned way!) or spending time with his wife and children.

So, if you’re on the hunt for a broker to help with home or business finance, Matt’s your guy. Get in touch with him today on 1300 338 228.

Steven Allen

Mortgage Broker

  • Bachelors in Applied Finance & Financial Planning
  • Diploma in Finance & Mortgage Broking

Steven dresses like Adam Sandler (his words) and has a penchant for collecting stuff – coins, stamps, Pokemon cards and, dare we say it, personal fans. We kid you not – our Google reviews are dominated by clients spruiking his awesomeness.

From “brilliant service” to “accommodating and patient”, and “open lines of communication”, he sets a new standard for mortgage brokers.  And while it’s fun to rib him about it, it’s all true. He’s all personality, with an uncanny ability to talk everyone about anything, and is genuinely helpful and compassionate.

Don’t judge (dentists, look away) but he’s a ‘three bottles of Coke a day’ man. And despite rating Twinkies highly, he’s also a damn good cook, loving nothing more than whipping up a spectacular dish (or three) in the kitchen.

He’s also a fan of comedian Bert Kreischer (those stand-up specials are a fave), Red Duck Thai curry, and playing and coaching real football (the one with a round ball).

Despite his status as a Google review legend, Steven’s always available to secure the best home loan for new and returning clients. Call 1300 338 228 today and see how he can help you.

Serena Fisher

Mortgage Broker / Personal Assistant

  • Cert IV in Finance
  • Diploma in Finance

We’re not prone to exaggeration (trust us – we’re all about the numbers) so when we say that Serena is the heart and soul of Educated, it’s no lie. Having been at the forefront of our team since 2005 and wearing so many hats, she’s an integral member of the team. In truth, we’d be lost without her.

Serena is everything you want in a Mortgage Broker, combining financial smarts with diligence and genuine client care. This is what makes her so unique; one the one hand, she’s a highly successful negotiator having developed strong lender relationships built on mutual respect. On the other hand, she’s incredibly compassionate, showing a commitment to our clients that’s unmatched.

Beyond brokering better home loan rates for clients, Serena also deals with compliance and manages all of our marketing and communications. She’s also the extra hand for the rest of the team, providing support for anything they may need. See how we weren’t exaggerating?

When Serena isn’t writing loans or managing our socials, she loves unwinding with friends, escaping to Byron Bay, or tacking a bootcamp session. And while she’s totally devoted to her gorgeous black Labrador Bailey, her hubby isn’t quite as lucky – if she found herself stranded on a desert island with only one person, there’s a 50/50 chance that it may be Bradley Cooper (ouch!).

No matter your needs, Serena is your person. And although she doesn’t need buttering up, she won’t say no to a chai latte on almond milk if you’re local. Or a piece of dark chocolate…

If you’re ready to make your dream home a reality, get in touch with Serena today on 1300 338 228.

Our Lenders

We have top-tier accreditation with a number of our lenders

We have been added to another major banks top tier broker program – Westpac Advantage + Prestige. This is in addition our existing top tier accreditations with ANZ, CBA and Suncorp.

What does it mean? It means these lenders provide us with better service, quicker turnaround times and more bargaining power – which helps us to get you the best deal on your home loan.

We also have another 25 lenders on our panel to choose from when finding you the best deal to meet your needs and circumstances. With lenders now fighting for owner occupied home loans there’s never been a better time to have your existing loan reviewed.
